What is Bowen ?
Bowen Technique is a simple remedial therapy, treating not just the symptoms but
the body as a whole. Addressing the central nervous system, it stimulates the circulation
& lymphatic systems bringing nutrients to the area & removing toxins. It helps release
muscle spasm allowing the body to re-align itself. Treatments last approximately
45 minutes and can be carried out through light clothing. For humans, it is one
of the few therapies that can be performed with clients sitting or lying on their
side if necessary. Gentle and relaxing it is suitable for all.
Before
After
There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue & no force is used. The practitioner
uses fingers & thumbs in a rolling action over precise areas of the body. This creates
a disturbance in the loop of information between brain & body.
Two or three treatments at weekly intervals are all that is usually needed to achieve
lasting relief. We are all individuals and some may benefit from “top ups”.
Bowen practitioners do not diagnose and the therapy is not intended as a substitute
for medical or veterinary advice or treatment. If you are considering having an
animal treated, always consult your vet & obtain his/her approval before your first
appointment. It is illegal for anyone to treat your animal without veterinary consent.
